Easter Show 2013

One of the biggest things for kids to do is finally here; the Easter Show. Where the kids dig holes into their parents' wallets for toys, lollies, games and rides plus food at the venue on top. But that didn't phase me, obviously I knew that's what we have to do for our kids.

This year we decided Jaiden was big enough to go to the Easter Show and he knew what he liked so it was easy for him to point out what he wanted instead of sitting there for ages deciding what to get.

We got there nice and early, so when we were roaming there wasn't much of a crowd to battle and we were able to see the animals with ease. We got to see horses, ponies and touch the farm animals. Jaiden was also face-painted as Spider Man! He stayed in character since! Though when he the "real" Spider Man and Wolverine, he suddenly got starstruck. Jaiden only got one showbag, which was Batman - pretty much the only one worth buying.

Jeremy and Jaiden took turns playing games but of course Jaiden took all the winnings and left me with nothing because Jeremy didn't win one game haha. 

Overall, a great day out as a family and the best thing we could've done before Jaiden goes away.

 

Easter Long Weekend 2012

This year for Easter Friday, Jaiden and I spent it with Hariette and her family. We attended the 'Stations of the Cross' followed with a picnic at Warragamba Dam.  Jeremy stayed home because Sister-in-law and her family were over, so he cooked up a fish filled lunch for them.

On Easter Saturday, we went to Freshwater Beach for the day with my family. Jaiden stayed amongst the rocks where there were little rock pools and played there for the whole day. It was a little too cold to swim though, so it was only my cousin Roden who swam out of all of us.
 It was a good family day out. I love doing things like this with my family.

At night, I went out with Hariette and her uni girlfriends, Emily and Jamie. We started the night off with dinner at a Spanish restaurant, Capitan Torres Restaurant. Followed with clubbing at Luxe, Martin Place Bar. I also bumped into my my primary school friend Julie. It was so good seeing her, after almost 10 years!

Easter Sunday was rest day for Jaiden and I, and work for Jeremy.

Easter Monday was Jeremy's and my 4 year anniversary. Since we planned to celebrate it on another day, we just went out to our local mall and had a little family day out.

Easter Long Weekend

Happy Easter Everyone! 

For the long weekend, we didn't do much but just have a relaxing one. As a Christian, I believe that we shouldn't be out partying during Holy week because it's one of the most important aspects to being a Christian, to reflect on what Jesus has done for us all. And out of all days to reflect, I think that the three days (Good Friday-Easter Sunday especially) are the most important ones. I just don't get the people out there that say they're 'religious' but just see this weekend as a 'long weekend holiday' and nothing more until they have to go to church on Easter Sunday. I'm in no position to start arguing but to just put my opinion out there as to why we didn't do anything extravagant. 

But anyway, Jeremy and I just had a movie date on Friday night, on Saturday we had a bbq with Jeremy's side of the family including our Aunt and Uncle from Canberra. We had quite the feast that day, I made my Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes once again and our Aunty liked it so much she asked me fort he recipe.. I've got to email that to her before I forget. You can find the recipe here. And today, Sunday, we've got nothing planned but to just clean up a little around the house and attend mass later this afternoon.
