Hariette's 22nd Birthday

Last Friday night, we went out for my 'sister' Hariette's 22nd Birthday.
I ended up going home after work just so I could see Jaiden before dropping him off to my mums for the night and also so I could get ready properly. We drove to the city and ended up getting there way before we expected, which was 30 minutes earlier. So Jeremy and I went to the restaurant (Tony Roma's) early, because we didn't have anything else to do and just sat there for a good 45 minutes waiting for everyone. Jeremy ended up having a coffee to warm himself up lol.

People finally started arriving, but as usual, the birthday girl is always late lol. We got our orders and waited very patiently, giving that everyone was so hungry.. I ordered The Original Baby Back Ribs with corn and a spud as a side. It was so delicious! I ate the whole thing! which is pretty rare for me because I never finish any meal off. Jeremy ordered a burger since he wasn't that hungry.

Afterwards, Hariette and her friends decided to crash at their penthouse while we went straight home because we were just knackered. It was a good catch up though. I hadn't seen and spoken to my '2nd family' properly in so long. And it was a good, quiet night out. Just what I longed for.

Aroma Festival

Today we went to the The Rock's Aroma Festival at Circular Quay, Sydney. It was supposed to be a girls day out but one backed out and so we made a family outing, with Jess (our helper for the day lol).

We started our day pretty early, leaving the house at 9am and dropping our car off to Jess' house, since there were track works from where we were and where Jess lives is where it starts. So it was pretty convenient. Then we headed to the city together. Once we got there, it was so packed and made it so much harder for us because we had a pram.

At first, I thought the stall were free, but when we got there, they actually weren't. Which  was a little disappointment, but at least their drinks weren't too over priced, though there food was! We bought Jeremy a burger at the start because he was starving for $15 that came with a coke.. It was so expensive, even though it was yummy.

But anyway, we made our way around the whole place, squeezing ourselves through the crowd of people in the streets. We got separated from Jess in the middle though because she was lining up for some 'spiral spuds' which took her 1.5h to actually order and get it in her hands lol. So we just walked around, took photos, got some Dutch Poffertjes and then made our way to the other side where we then met up with Jess, as well as having a little tucker from the Italian Village.

After that, we continued to make our way around the block to the other side where The Rocks Markets were held. We looked around there as well as the stalls that were part of the Aroma Festival. And then made our way back to the station.

We got through the whole festival plus the markets in about 4 hours, including getting separated with Jess and having to travel and push our way through everyone with our pram. It was such a good day and great weather which made everything else perfect. I loved today! I can't wait for our next family outing.

Here's a whole bunch of photos from the day.

interview and city

Today, I had a job interview for a Sales Consultant role in the CBD which I was fortunate to have an opportunity to attend through a friends mum who passed mine and a few more other peoples CV's forward. Unfortunately I didn't get accepted because there were more people there who had more experience in the industry than I did, which I didn't have any experience in lol. But I wasn't too fussed since it was just an opportunity that just raised and I just took it and gave it a go :)

During my interview, Jeremy and Jaiden had their own little bonding time and said they had Maccas, walked around the shops and around Hyde Park and let Jaiden run around and they were feeding the birds. When I heard all this, it made me melt a little inside knowing what they did.. I just pictured them being in their own little world together. And since I couldn't be there to capture their moments, I got Jeremy to take photos of Jaiden and they were absolutely cute! Jeremy was telling me that when they were feeding the birds, Jaiden had a biscuit in his hand and an Ibis came and stole it off him then Jaiden kicked it hahaha. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that!

Afterwards when I met up with them, I initially wanted to go to Westfields and try to shop around and look at Gap and possibly Zara which opened today but knowing Jeremy, he never wants to go shopping, especially in the city and while we have Jaiden lol. So we just settled to walking to a Korean BBQ place where we ate before and have lunch there. It was just aswell that we didn't go to Zara because the line was long even at 3:30pm when I saw someones Facebook photo upload at that time lol.

Here are a few photos from today :)

Shopping, City & Sun

Today was started off really early once again. My mum had asked me if Jaiden and I wanted to accompany her at the City today, and since I didn't have anything planned for the day but to just stay home, I said yes. So I got out of bed at 8:30am, got myself a cup of coffee before starting anything, started getting things ready for Jaiden as I knew he would need a lot of things, especially food. My mum didn't arrive until 10:30am but I've learned that by having a child, you need to prioritise your time & get ready at least 1.5-2 hours prior to leaving. You just don't know what will pop up next & running around the place isn't going to do any justice to being 'organised' especially when you're far from home. Lucky for me, I've nearly mastered that & was ready to go by the time my mum had arrived.

We got to the city at around 11:30am and I've gotta say, my mum is the slowest driver, especially on the freeway! She was driving 10km's under the speed limit & I couldn't help but tell her about the new law 'proposing' to be introduced - fines will be given to those who under-speed & she complains that it takes her so long to travel to the city.. such a rhetorical thing to say! lol

Our first stop was for my mum at her work, so Jaiden and I just waited while she did what she needed to do. The girls at the front desk seemed to love Jaiden! And Jaiden loved all the attention lol.
We then headed off to Market City in Chinatown where our shopping was going to be done. First off, we had lunch on the top level - mongolian lamb & some sort of vegetable my mum ordered.

Then it was shopping time! I took the opportunity to dig in with all the sales they had going on!
During our wandering around, we bumped into our friend Jess and since she was by herself & had nothing to do after, I told her to just come around with us lol. So we just walked and looked around some more. I ended up buying:
  • Skinny jeans + 2 singlets for Jaiden
  • A maxi dress for myself - saving it for my Christmas outfit
  • 2 shirts each for my 3 boys cousin + Jeremy
  • A birthday/christmas present for my cousin
Then after all the walking around and before heading home, I had to step outside of Market City to buy Jeremy his Ramen, as requested then my mum decided to try the Ramen aswell, so we dined in. My mum ordered beef ramen, Jess ordered a small entree of dumplings & I tried their taro ice cream dessert. Though I only ended up eating the ice cream, I didn't really like it. I like the Ramen though!

It was just after 6pm and we headed off back to the car. We didn't end up getting home until 7:30pm because it was still peak-hour, especially on the freeway! When we arrived, Jeremy drove us to Starbucks where Jess and I claimed our free toffee nut frappuccino,  because it was their Christmas party & were giving out free talls of anything. Then we dropped Jess off to the station, where we got a flat tyre while driving there. It was scary.. I think I'll keep that story to myself.

But anyway, I was so happy we were back home (and safely, may I add). I was so drained from all the walking we did, especially from pushing the stroller uphill when we were walking back to the car.

Overall, it was another perfect day out! And to top my day off even more, Jeremy and I opened one Christmas present each - I let him open his because he has other presents that will be awaiting him anyway. Anyway, I was so surprised when I opened my present! I honestly did not see this coming!!!

I seriously cannot stop grinning! I am in happiness overload lol. Now I can't wait to open my other present on Christmas day!! My boyfriend is the sweetest! I thought it was the greatest & sweetest surprise yet!!!
